So, we had an independent laboratory test our core cleaning methods against some of the most common and unhealthy contaminants found in homes — allergens and bacteria. Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning
The lab tested Chem-Dry’s Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE) cleaning process that’s used to clean carpets and upholstery. The lab found that we remove an average of 98.1% of common household allergens from carpets and upholstery.* The lab also discovered that when sanitizer is added to the HCE process, we remove an average of 89% of airborne bacteria in the home and 82.3% of bacteria in carpets.*
Pet Urine Removal Treatment (P.U.R.T.)
At Chem-Dry of Acadiana, we use our revolutionary P.U.R.T to remove pet urine odors and stains in Lafayette. The lab conducted multiple tests of P.U.R.T. on common pet odor sources — dog and cat urine. The lab found that P.U.R.T. removes an average of 99.9% of pet urine odors from carpets.* When used with our HCE process and a sanitizer, P.U.R.T. removes an average of 99.2% of the bacteria from pet urine stains in carpets.*
Stone, Tile, and Grout Cleaning
Another service that the lab studied was our stone, tile, and grout cleaning process, which was tested on several tile surfaces in multiple homes. The lab concluded that when used with a sanitizer, our tile, stone, and grout cleaning process, removes an average of 98.6% of bacteria from these surfaces.*
*Based on studies conducted by independent laboratories of Chem-Dry’s HCE (Hot Carbonating Extraction) and P.U.R.T. (Pet Urine Removal Treatment) cleaning processes. Allergens tested were dog and cat dander and dust mite allergen. Pet odor results based on testing with the most common odor sources found in dog and cat urine. Pet urine bacteria results based on Chem-Dry’s HCE cleaning process and a sanitizer, combined with P.U.R.T. All bacteria results include use of sanitizer. Figures are an average across multiple tests.
